A Kitchen Remodeler for Houses That Are Not Coming Down

Madameandme is a kitchen remodeling company based on Ford Rd in Newport Beach. A large share of what we do happens in Corona del Mar, in homes whose owners looked at the teardowns going up around them and decided to stay in the house they have.

That choice changes the job. A rebuild starts with an empty lot and a set of plans. An update starts with a room that already has plumbing in one place, a window in another, cabinets of some age and quality, and a family that still has to eat somewhere while the work is happening. Our job is to work out how much of that room can stay, and to spend the budget where it changes how the kitchen feels to use.

How We Approach a Kitchen

We look before we suggest anything. That means opening doors, pulling drawers, checking the sink base for old water damage, looking at how the hood is ducted, and seeing what the electrical panel can carry. A kitchen with solid plywood boxes and a layout the owner likes is a candidate for refacing, new counters and better lighting. A kitchen with failing particleboard or a layout nobody likes needs new cabinets, and sometimes a conversation about whether a bigger remodel is the honest answer.

We also plan for where the house is. Homes near the bay and the ocean are hard on metal, so stainless or coated hardware is our default rather than an upgrade. Tight streets on Balboa Island and the Peninsula, and HOA work hours in the gated communities, shape the schedule, so we build them into it from the start.

What We Will Not Do

We will not talk you into moving the sink for a photograph, and we will not sell new doors to cover boxes that are coming apart. If the kitchen needs less work than you expected, we will say so.
